An International Conference on “Emerging Technologies for Sustainable and Intelligent HVAC&R Systems” has been organized at Pride Plaza Hotel, Rajarhat, Kolkata on 27 – 28 July 2018 by the Institution of Engineers (India) West Bengal State Centre, co-sponsored by International Institute of Refrigeration, Paris, France in collaboration with Indoor Air Quality Association, USA and Institute of Mechanical Engineers, London, in collaboration with MCKV Institute of Engineering, Howrah and Indian Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers, Kolkata Chapter, India.

The inaugural session was attended by a number of eminent personalities both from Abroad and India such as Mr. Didier Coulomb, Director General of International Institute of Refrigeration, France; Prof. T. Agmi Reddy of Arizona State University, Dr. Suvojit Ghosh from McMaster University, Canada; Mr. Indrajit Purkayastha, CEO & Co-founder of Purkay Lab, Boston USA; Dr. Souvik Bhattacharya, Vice Chancellor of BITS, Pilani.

The Inaugural session was addressed by Er.Kashmir Lal Mallik, Chairman, WBSC, IEI, Prof. Dr. Parasar Bandyopadhyay, Working Chairman of ICHVACR, & Prof (Dr.) Samir Saha, and Er. Sisir Kumar Banerjee, President IEI. Er. Yatish Kumar, CMD-Braithwaite & Co. Ltd also spoke on Emerging Technologies relevant to HVAC & R.

The conference will also be addressed by experts from the industry, academia, scientists and scholars who are from various institutions and organizations across India.

The themes covered will include devices, green buildings and new refrigerants for sustainability in line with the goals of the Govt. of India as a massive expansion of cooling system in a growing economy like ours. The conferences will also emphasis the air quality control for micro fabrication.
